Hi, I'm Michael —

I build software that's ready for what's next.

Software architect and engineer in Vienna. I design and build software that is easy to change, from modernizing ageing systems to new products built with the help of AI agents. Whether you're hiring, an engineer, or a business without a tech team: let's talk.

01How I can helpPick what fits you

What brings you here?

You don't need to speak tech.

Maybe you have an idea for an app or online service, or software that slows your business down. I'll listen, explain your options in plain language, and build what you need, so it can grow with you instead of holding you back.

Tell me about your idea
  1. A clear plan firstWe agree on what to build and why, in plain words, before any code is written.
  2. Faster with AI, checked by meAI assistants speed up the building. I review every change, so speed never costs quality.
  3. Software you ownClean, documented code on standard technology that any developer can pick up later.
02AboutSince 2021

I like systems that are easy to change.

I started building production software early. From 2021 to 2023, while studying for my bachelor's at the Vienna University of Technology (TU Wien), I led a nine-person engineering team at LeadGen KG. We built products from scratch on ASP.NET, MS SQL, Angular and Azure, and I learned how much good structure matters once a codebase and a team start to grow.

Today I work part-time at Cloudflight, mostly in Kotlin, Java and Spring Boot with Angular and TypeScript on the front. My favourite kind of work is a turnaround: taking a system that has become hard to touch and moving it, step by step, toward a clean domain core, hexagonal boundaries and a modulith, without stopping feature delivery.

I'm equally at home in the infrastructure underneath: Terraform on Azure, Docker and Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis and RabbitMQ, and pipelines in GitLab and TeamCity. I write C#, Python and plain HTML/CSS when the job calls for it, and I work in Agile/Scrum teams.

Lately my focus is agentic engineering: using AI agents for planning, refactoring and migrations inside guardrails that keep the architecture intact. Fast is only useful if it stays correct.

2024 — now

Software Engineer

Cloudflight Austria GmbH · Vienna · Part-time

Leading the technical turnaround of a legacy monolith: MariaDB to PostgreSQL and Azure Blob Storage, manual Azure setup to Terraform, and a DDD-centric hexagonal backend moving toward a modulith. Introduced agentic engineering workflows to the team.

2021 — 2023

Head of Software Engineering

LeadGen KG · Ried im Innkreis · Self-employed

Directed a 9-person team, set up agile workflows and code-quality standards, designed systems from scratch, ran the Azure infrastructure and its costs, and built the Azure DevOps pipelines.
